A step closer towards a Universal Flu Vaccine
Scientists at the Imperial College, London say that they have created a "blueprint" for a universal flu vaccine. According to their theory, the aim is to target the core of the virus since that remains unchanged. T-Cells, the fighter cells in our immune system can recognize the proteins in the core. Researchers admit that developing a T-Cell vaccine is a tough job and the goal would be to get a big enough response from the T-Cells, big enough to offer protection that will last.
